Top of 5 of 2012: Travis Bacon

Travis Bacon of Grudges

Travis Bacon is in WHITE WIDOWS. He was also formerly GRUDGES from NYC, as well as SIXES out of Olympia, WA. Travis was nice enough to do an interview with Campfire Island in 2012.

Travis is one rulin’ dude. I think NYC suits him best, but we were lucky to have him in Olympia for a few years.

  1. Primitive Weapons @ The Shadow Gallery
Flawless record, very innovative, best record of the year.
  2. New Order @ Roseland Ballroom
This show was everything and more than I ever could have hoped for. Incredible set, amazing sound, great visuals. A dream come true.
  3. Refused @ The Acheron (a surprise set)
There are not words. The best part was watching them drunkenly soundcheck to Madball and Earth Crisis.
  4. Nasum/Grudges @ Club Europa
Getting the chance to see and play with your favorite band of all time is an opportunity anyone rarely gets to fulfill. Especially when the band’s frontman is since deceased. Whats even more rare is when not only do you have a good set being the opening band but you get to hang out with Nasum and be pulled on stage to sing your favorite song with them and be invited back the night after to do it in front of thousands of people at MDF….I could have died after that.
  5. Lords of Death – 2012 demo
Sheer brutal swedish style fucking crust attack. One of the more fun recordings I’ve worked on. Can’t wait to hear more from this band.
