About the Show

Campfire Island broadcasts a radio show on KAOS 89.3 FM (in Olympia, WA) every Saturday at from 10pm to midnight (Pacific). They say KAOS 89.3FM signal reaches from the southern parts of Tacoma to the north part of Centrailia – if you’re listening to our show out there, shoot us an email and let us know. I think you can find KAOS on a cable channel around here, too. Otherwise the rest of the nation can catch us on the Internet stream at http://www.kaosradio.org/

We play punk, post-punk and hardcore music and any other music made by punks…

The first hour of the show is mostly new music and current touring bands… the second hour is anything in the full 30+ years of punk that we want to play. We have frequent guest djs, and occasional co-hosts (they’re apparently hard to keep in stock). Our PLAYLISTS are the proof that we kick ass.

We’re named after Joe Strummer’s last painting, which his friends received on a Christmas Card the day he died. For the full story, watch: “The Future is Unwritten: JOE STRUMMER” by Julian Temple. Which we recommend, in any case.

THERE ARE SHOW PLAYLISTS THAT YOU CAN SEARCH AROUND IN.

… from Gainesville, FL – where he co-founded Wayward Council and otherwise survived three generations of mayhem. Twenty years of going to shows may have left him a little rattled, but it was his roommates in Palatka that gave him such a short attention span.  Frank thinks a lot about the Olympia Film Society, which operates the Capitol Theater.
